Satellite Intra-Connectivity- MoCIT

From the 1980s to almost 1998, Afghan nationals struggled to make or exchange local voice traffic inside the country between major cities like Kabul, Kandahar, Herat, Mazar Sharif, and Jalal Abad. These significant cities had a fragile copper cable infrastructure decades old in place, but with no intra-connectivity in between them, the calls were mostly local within that specific city. For international calls- Afghans were mostly relying on neighboring countries, like Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Iran, and Tajikistan. With the cost of travel on one side and the lack of road infrastructure on another side, Afghanistan remained the most isolated community for centuries.

Insta Telecom LTD, Supported the local exchange intra-connectivity backhauling through Satellites, initially connecting the five major cities’ local exchanges, to enable them exchanges calls in between, in step two we worked on enabling the country to make international voice calls- activated the country codes, and install voice exchange switch at New York exchange. With our support, millions of Afghans were able to call their relatives, friends, and business partners from major cities across the country at an affordable cost.
